"It is simply the most fabulous experience and the students are taught far more than fencing:  responsibility, accountability, tenacity and grace. They come out with far more grit than when they started."

… Where Fencers Become National Competitors

Zeta Fencing is the home of sabre fencing champions from the Greater Boston Area. Our coaches’ dedication and experience make the difference. So does our athletes’ hard work since it takes many hours of practice, patience, and strong work ethic to succeed in fencing. Winning competitions requires more than basic athletic training. Our competitive classes teach mental skills that go beyond the strip and make our fencers successful competitors in all aspects of life.

Our invitation-only competitive programs run for 10 months and require a fencer’s commitment for a full season. The programs include all aspects of training that competitive fencers need: conditioning, footwork, drills in a group setting, and many hours of bouting to gain fencing experience. All competitive level fencers are required to use their own equipment during practice and competition.

While age and fencing level are the main criteria for placing students in one of our competitive programs, admission to Zeta Fencing’s Junior Class is exclusively the Head Coach’s decision that cannot be overturned by students or parents.

Junior Class Times & Fees

This program is for competitors ages 12+ with regional and some national tournament experience. Students in this program are required to compete at the regional and national level for their age group and compete in the categories for which they are age or ratings eligible. Their goal is to qualify for and compete at Summer Nationals in their respective age groups.

Group classes meet twice per week for 1.5 hours each. In addition, students should attend the Combined Class and participate in Open Bouting every week.
