"Zeta Fencing has had a very positive influence on my 13-year-old daughter; she has gained confidence, poise and strength from her experience with fencing at Zeta. What we love: There are no participation awards. The coaching staff are supportive and targeted in their approach, they push her to be the best she can be, while still making it fun. All her successes are earned by hard work and diligence.

... Where Beginners Learn the Fundamentals of Sabre Fencing

Our beginner classes introduce new fencers to the Olympic sport of fencing. A fencer's first steps on the fencing strip are the most important ones they will ever take in the sport. Through a combination of individual lessons and small group classes, students learn the fundamental concepts and movements quickly and thoroughly. Our unique teaching methods have produced national champions, NCAA champions, world champions, and Olympians. Zeta Fencing's approach to teaching follows these principles:

  • Starting age 7: Fencing is a sport for students of all ages. Our coaches focus on safety and fun for all.
  • Age-appropriate teaching: Classes are  separated for different youth age groups and adult beginners. Coaches adapt their teaching methods to the age and maturity of their students. All classes are taught with “real,” Olympic-style fencing weapons and uniforms.
  • Small groups: Class size is limited to 12 students to ensure that student receive individual attention while engaging in partner exercises.
  • Individual lessons: Our expert coaches work with students one-on-one to teach the foundational movements.
  • Sportsmanship and Olympic values: All classes instill the traditions and values of the Olympic sport of fencing. Our fencers practice true sportsmanship and become supportive teammates.
